Most Security companies pay all of their frontline Security Officers an equal hourly rate. At Imperium, we believe this is one of the major causes of animosity between Officers and poor performance. Of course, this is detrimental to a happy and harmonious team and detrimental to your business. Because, as with any business, some may make a more diligent effort towards their work than other Officers.
We are pleased to remunerate our Officers a starting rate of $23 / hr. This is the highest rate for Security in New Zealand and is even higher than the ‘living wage’, currently set at $20.55. We then pay an additional performance bonus on top of this which can see our Officer’s hourly rate increase to $25 an hour. Despite this, we continue to offer our clients the most competitive rates in the Security industry.
In addition to being able to meet the cost of living, staff turnover is decreased which gives Imperium Security the distinct advantage in working longer with loyal staff who can learn our methodologies more successfully and in turn apply them more readily to your business.
In addition, we contract all of our Security Officers on a casual contract basis, from month to month, to keep them on their toes. Despite this, we vet our Security Officers thoroughly to make sure we contract the finest Security Officers possible.
Casual contracts makes it easier for us to let go of a Security Officer should they not meet our stringent ‘above industry’ standards. It also reminds our Security Officers that they are expendable within an industry of multiple Officers of various experience, should they not perform sufficiently.
Of course this means more Professional Officers to take good care of your business, your property, your patrons and your staff. It also affords our Security Officers more flexibility in working their work schedules around their home life. This means happier Officers serving you better.
Despite the use of ‘monthly contracts’, we strive to employ Security Officers that will remain with us for a lengthy period and get to know you, your business, patrons and your staff well.
